          BRIEF SCHOOL HISTORY

The history of the school dates back to the struggle for education in Kenya. In August 1943,  a group of pupils came from Kyeni mission with Fr Witte, an Italian Consolata missionary, as  their headmaster. They found a school here that was already existing and joined in class v. This  school had a lot difficulties due to the crisis of the second world war. The school’s name was  St Michael intermediate School Kevote.  Fr Massa later became the headmaster between 1946-  1952.

Fr George took over from him and made the school famous in the district and beyond.  Other missionary priests headed the school until 1956 when Mr James NjagiKabogo  became the  first African headmaster. Mr. AnselmoNyaga followed in 1958,Mr.AngeloNjagi took over in   1959. These were old boys of the school.

In January 1960, the school opened its doors to the first form one students. The headmaster  of the new secondary school was FrBertaina until 1965.He set very high standards making  the school an academic hub for many students in the region and beyond. The only other school  in the district then was Kangaru School. Between 1965-1966 FrLenta, nicknamed Guy, became  headmaster and created a very strong spirit in all curriculum activities. Theschool became evenmore formidable.
